KuKu Quality Check (QC) Policy

At KuKu, every purchase is special—especially when it's coming straight from a Creator Closet.

Our Quality Check (QC) is an optional add-on designed to give buyers extra confidence before their order arrives. Think of it as a second pair of expert eyes, helping ensure your purchase matches what you fell in love with online.

1. What is Quality Check?

Quality Check (QC) is an optional paid service that buyers can add during checkout.

If selected, KuKu will inspect the item after collection from the creator and before delivery to help verify that it matches the listing.

Current QC Fee: AED 20 per item.

Quality Check is completely optional. Buyers who choose not to add QC will receive their order without inspection.

2. How It Works

If you choose Quality Check:

  1. You place your order and add QC during checkout.
  2. KuKu collects the item from the creator.
  3. The item is transported to our Quality Check Centre.
  4. Our team inspects the item.

If the item passes QC, it's carefully packed and delivered to you.

If it doesn't pass, it won't be shipped.

If collection cannot be completed because the creator is unavailable or repeatedly misses scheduled pickups, the order may be cancelled in accordance with KuKu's policies.

3. What We Check

Our team compares the physical item against its listing, including:

Condition

  • Matches the stated condition.
  • No significant undisclosed stains, tears, damage, or alterations.
  • No major wear beyond what has been disclosed.

Listing Accuracy

  • Correct brand.
  • Correct size.
  • Correct colour.
  • Correct style and category.
  • Accessories included where stated.

Cleanliness

  • The item should be clean, wearable, and ready for its next owner.
  • Items showing excessive dirt, mould, strong odours, pest infestation, or hygiene concerns may fail Quality Check.

4. Luxury & Designer Items

For luxury and designer listings, Quality Check includes a visual inspection only.

Our team may review:

  • Logos
  • Stitching
  • Materials
  • Labels
  • Serial numbers (where visible)
  • Supporting documents provided by the creator

Important

Quality Check is not a professional authentication service and should not be considered proof of authenticity.

Creators remain solely responsible for the authenticity of the items they list.

5. If an Item Doesn't Pass QC

If an item fails Quality Check:

  • The item will not be delivered to the buyer.
  • The item will be returned to the creator.
  • The buyer will receive a refund for the purchase price.
  • QC fees, delivery fees, or other service charges may not be refundable where clearly disclosed during checkout.

Common reasons an item may fail include:

  • Significant differences from the listing.
  • Undisclosed damage or defects.
  • Hygiene concerns.
  • Missing accessories included in the listing.
  • Suspected counterfeit or prohibited products.

Repeated QC failures may result in listing restrictions, account suspension, or permanent removal from KuKu.

6. What Quality Check Doesn't Cover

Quality Check helps verify the condition of an item—it doesn't guarantee that you'll love how it looks or fits.

QC does not cover:

  • Personal style preferences.
  • Fit or sizing expectations.
  • Comfort.
  • Manufacturer sizing differences.
  • Fabric feel.
  • Future wear and tear.
  • Professional luxury authentication.

7. Limitation of Liability

While KuKu performs Quality Check with reasonable care and attention, QC:

  • Is not a guarantee of satisfaction.
  • Does not replace a buyer's responsibility to review listings carefully.
  • Does not constitute professional authentication, certification, or appraisal.

KuKu is not responsible for dissatisfaction relating to fit, styling, comfort, or other subjective preferences.
